We send a tailored menu and quote for your event. Refine the menu until it fits exactly what you want. Lock in your date with a 50% deposit.

Event day

Chef Smith arrives prepped and ready. Your guests eat well. You handle nothing. Final invoice 7 days after the event.

Chef Tyrik Smith.

Brooklyn-born, ICC-trained, with over fifteen years of professional kitchen experience — from fast food at Wendy's through casual restaurants into Michelin-recognized and celebrity chef-led environments. That arc, from fryer to fine dining, is exactly what Good Ol' Fish Fry is built on.

His work alongside Chef Eric Adjepong is documented in The New York Times, BuzzFeed, and Adjepong's cookbook Ghana to the World. He's also an active chef-instructor in NYC public schools through Wellness in the Schools.

The details.

How much lead time do you need?
We recommend 2–4 weeks depending on the tier — larger or more elaborate events benefit from the longer end. Rush bookings may be possible; reach out and we'll let you know.
What's your service area?
We cater across all five NYC boroughs. For events beyond the city, we're happy to provide a custom quote — just include your location when you reach out.
Do you accommodate dietary restrictions?
Yes. We can provide vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free, halal, and other dietary-specific menus. Let us know in your inquiry and we'll build the menu around your guests' needs.
What's the minimum guest count?
Backyard Fish Fry & Community Table: minimum 12 guests. Live Fish Fry Experience & Signature Experience: minimum 25 guests. Chef's Tasting & Luxury: minimum 10 guests.
Do you handle event venues?
We bring the food to your venue, but we don't operate venues ourselves. If you need venue recommendations in NYC or Westchester, ask in your inquiry — we have a working list of spaces we like.
How does payment work?
50% deposit to book, with the remaining 50% due 7 days before the event. Final headcount is confirmed 7 days out. NYC sales tax (8.875%) is added to all orders. Invoices come from GoodLooks by Us LLC, DBA Good Ol' Fish Fry.
